All of these steps are completed by our team, in our own workshop. On top of this comes the time to cast, to weld, to gild and to enamel, a series of crucial steps entrusted to partners selected for the quality of their work.

When we choose a hand-made product, we put the human being at the centre of the process: we know who worked on this piece, and we know who we’re selling it to. By remaining local and small in scale, we never need to stock large quantities and then run promotions to sell them all. What’s more, we choose to work with fully certified French partner suppliers for our raw materials, ensuring that we help preserve our resources and the people who provide them.
Lastly, this guarantees us complete freedom to create. We are free to renew our collections every season, bring out limited editions and release capsule collections.

Creating jewellery in our Paris workshop and working with French artisans is a deliberate choice, and one which forms part of who we are. By producing only what is needed, and reducing waste by recycling as much unused material as possible, we can help reduce our impact on the environment.

Putting craftsmanship first
Child of the Canal Saint-Martin, Medecine Douce was founded in 2000 by Marie Montaud. Following a series of collaborations with some of the biggest names in fashion, the brand has now found a home on Rue de Marseille in Paris. A space for both the boutique and the workshop, these form the two essential parts of the brand, working in synergy.
Cast an eye through the windows in our boutique and you’ll see Marie creating new pieces while Cécile oversees manufacture and Tuyet maintains strict quality control of each item. You may also see Pascaline in charge of our social media and e-shop, while Alissia, Margot and Sacha receive you in the boutique to give you advice and information you need to make your choice. Lastly, Gilles maintains and develops our relations with our partners, who distribute Medecine Douce in France and around the world.
